Introducing Lisa!

  • Lisa M Koss, LMHC

    Lisa graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 2018 with a Master Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Lisa’s clients describe her as relatable, curious, direct, quirky, safe, and easy to be themselves with.

My Approach

In my practice I use a client-centered approach utilizing a variety of modalities to meet your unique needs such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and am trained in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I work to empower my clients in many areas of life including; gaining insight, skill building, trauma processing, improved coping skills and strategies, and increased self-compassion. Always understanding the importance of meeting my clients where they are and at their pace, every journey is unique as is every path to growth and healing and I would be honored to be on this journey with you. I practice a holistic approach which may utilize mindfulness, journaling, or other artistic endeavors.

Adjustment difficulties & disorders - Support around adapting to new and/or challenging life circumstances; skill-building for improved stress management and reduction of anxiety.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Autism spectrum disorder - Support understanding the diagnosis and related challenges and strengths; skill-building in areas of daily routine, transitions, coping with overwhelming sensory experiences, social skills, and emotion identification and regulation

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Existential crisis & challenges - Supportive exploration of meaning and purpose in one’s life; finding one’s path in the face of existential anxiety, dread, and feelings of meaninglessness

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
